What are you reading?
I know that many in the church are in Life Transformation Groups. [and even if you are not...] I was wondering what the different groups/people were reading.
I am in a group with Clinton [who is also a fellow member of this site, and attends Monett Nazarene], and we are reading Psalms 13-14, and the first chapter of James. We have worked our way through Proverbs, 1 Corinthians, and Jude.
It is amazing how each week, there is something very applicable in our reading. It is great to be in the word daily. Even if you are not in an LTG, I would recommend daily reading. It really helps!
So with that in mind, what are you reading, and how is God speaking to you through it?

Re: What are you reading?
In what ways has God spoken to you through it? Have you come across any specific correlation between what you’ve been reading and your daily life or been inspired to chase after an idea or person because of what you read? I personally have come across instances of each since the time I started participating in a LTG. The repetition of the reading is really what helps me I think. Weston and I are now reading Psalms 15 &16, Hebrews 11 and James 2 each day this week. Guidance, affirmation and wisdom. It worked out well.

Re: What are you reading?
We have moved on to Psalms 19 & 20, and James 4. I love the first verse of Psalms 19:
Such a cool verse. I think of it every time I see a beautiful sunset, or a really cool looking storm cloud. Or see/hear lightning and thunder, as it were.
James 4 has some really good stuff in it too:
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Such a cool verse. I think of it every time I see a beautiful sunset, or a really cool looking storm cloud. Or see/hear lightning and thunder, as it were.
James 4 has some really good stuff in it too:
You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God.
When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Re: What are you reading?
So, it has been a little while since this thread has been bumped...
I am currently making my way through Acts, and trying to read daily Proverbs, corresponding with the day of the month.
It has been a while since I have read Acts. It is such a cool book. It really makes you look at Christian faith in new ways. Why aren't we seeing growth of that magnitude? Are we afraid of persecution?
Proverbs gives me something practical every day. There are always one or two verses that seem like they were written specifically for me.
So, with that said, what are you reading, and how is it impacting your day to day life?

Re: What are you reading?
I am reading according to "Professor Horner’s Bible Reading Plan"
http://www.wbfva.org/files/professor_grant_horners_bible_reading_system.pdf
It is a very challenging plan; reading 10 chapters a day. Check it out to see more information on it!
Enjoy!!!
