Are You Ready for the Quiz?
Examination! Pop Quiz! Test! These words always brought an element of fear to my heart when I was in school. If the teacher wanted to see my face turn red and solemn, all he/she had to do was to say, "Take out a blank sheet of paper and a pencil and get ready to be tested." Evaluation can be very telling, but also very beneficial. It is good to see where we are especially when it comes to our standing in Christ (or our sitting!).
Are you a casual Christian? Or are you a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ? Sunday we will be looking at the profile of a disciple of Christ. Please read John 15 in preparation for the April 13th sermon, and afterwards, "Take out a blank sheet of paper and let Christ's pencil/word confirm where you stand spiritually."
See you Sunday,
Pastor Noel

Re: Are You Ready for the Quiz?
I love it when Jesus says:
How awesome is that?
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. [John 15:15]
How awesome is that?

RE: Are You Ready for the Quiz?
2Cr 13:5
Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?--unless indeed you are disqualified.
Pass or fail?
The answer key – Jesus. Or, the key to the answer – Jesus.
Paul’s recommendation is a good one. “Test yourselves to see if Jesus Christ really lives in you.” How can we tell? Does our life affect those around us the same way Jesus’ life did?
Meeting Jesus resulted in transformed lives. People’s lives were changed. Their purpose and direction were altered. They followed Him. People turned from sin, received healing and rose from the dead.
The test is a simple one. Am I creating an impact in the lives of the people I meet? Is Jesus evident in my life to such a degree that others are affected by His presence? If I am abiding in Christ, obedient to His words and living a life that exuberates love, then the answer is an emphatic “Yes”; I pass. Otherwise, I fail.
If I pass, then my test will be stamped with a “Well done, good and faithful servant.” If I fail, then I can go the Master and “Study to show myself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Very well said. If you radiate Christ's Love, people can tell. You will impact lives!

You guys are great thinkers! Thanks for putting so much thought into the text of 2 Corinthians. Let's pray for God's holy anointing upon His church on His Lord's Day!
