Isaiah Chapter 6

Post by weston on Thu Sep 10, 2009 2:03 pm

Last night, while Noel was leading our current study, we talked about Isaiah chapter 6. It hit me while we were reading that... What was the condition of Isaiah's heart just before the LORD removed his guilt, and his sins were atoned for?

I believe holiness can only be truly attained when our heart is in a state of complete surrender to God. When we realize that we have no righteousness apart from Him.

Rom 6:1-4
"What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life" Romans 6:1-4
(from New International Version)

God not only imputes His righteousness to us, but I believe that Scripture teaches that He imparts His righteousness to us as well. He actually gives us His nature, His holiness, His righteousness. Wow!

Right here in the nitty gritty nasty now! double that wow.
Our biggest "problemo" is we are looking at our actions to see the righteousness ... when He is our righteousness.

Jesus is our type.

I agree. Christ is our righteousness, our sanctification, our holiness. The saying is true, "Know Christ, know holiness. No Christ, no holiness"

In Him we live, and move and have our being. Christ is the "sum of all spiritual things" - Watchman Nee

The saying by St. Francis of Assissi: "Preach the gospel at all times and use words if necessary."

Is it possible to make Christ known without words? Maybe by random acts of kindness in His Name?

If you mean - by our own decision deciding to do something that seems as though it would be nice, then -
No it is not possible - with or without words...

Christ must truly make Himself known.
We can only show someone a photograph of a landscape,
Christ is the only one that can take that person there to see it.

or to say it another way...
how do you describe something to someone that has been blind their whole life?

or better yet...
how do you tell or show a dead man anything?

or better yet...
how do you use something seen to show something unseen?

or... ?

What if you are prompted by the Holy Spirit to be nice in Jesus' Name? Can someone come to know Christ just by the loving action?

that begs the question: What does it mean to be nice " in Jesus' name?"

I suppose when Jesus said, "And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward." I have heard this said, "gives a cup of water in my name..."

Being nice or prompted to do something and then doing it...

Is it possible to see someone saved without using words?

This is not a trick question. It is legitimate.

I thought the little ones mentioned were christians...
in effect saying That you were being nice to Jesus ( His Body )

I will have to double check that.

God can use absolutely anything to show Himself - even a poor carpenters son born in a manger out of the homely town of " the house of bread "

so - yes, it is possible.

if God can use a donkey to utter prophecy and an evil high priest, then He certainly can use me.

Have you ever seen a person get saved with no one talking to him about Jesus?

no - but i have seen someone get saved in spite of someone talking to them about Jesus...

ok - follow me here...

A preacher ( you ) has a stirring by the spirit and is talking under the anointing -

the words start in the spirit - and then proceed through your mind where they are made into actually words. you start describing Jesus and His Love.

then they travel through the air waves and enter into another ones ear.
where they enter their mind and are defined by that own persons experience. They reconstruct what you said and turn it into a slightly different meaning... they reconstruct a slightly different Jesus. A wrong Jesus.

But if God meets those words spoken as they enter the others mind and If He interprets in their heart ( spirit ) what they meant when they first came out of spirit... then and only then will that person see the actually Jesus and what HE did and what He is doing.

my point above was

unless God brings those words back into spirit - the listener only hears religion.
