Politically Correct?

Post by weston on Thu May 07, 2009 4:21 pm

This was on a secular forum that I visit on occasion, posted by an Atheist: [Edited for language... if I missed anything, let me know -wg]

wow. i never knew there were so many politically correct christians.

i must say, i am actually appalled.

to the christians out there - your bible says that homosexuality is wrong. there really is no other way to say it.

yes, christians, your god is supposed to be "love" and he "loves everyone". well... except for those that are damned to hell, i suppose. that group includes the homosexuals... whoops....

my point is this. if you are a christian, love the sinner, but hate the sin. homosexuality, per Christianity, is a sin. therefore, there is no way to seriously be christian and support gay marriage, or gay weddings, or what ever the **** you want to say.

like i said, if you are going to be a christian... then BE one.

otherwise you are just giving lip service to a social group that you like to be identified with. and if church to you is a social club, then why bother going at all? it is ok to say that you oppose gay marriage. it doesn't make you a bigot for you to say "i am a christian. my doctrine says that homosexuality is a sin. therefore i can not in good conscious support gay marriage." otherwise you are just being a hypocrite. i am pretty sure jesus doesn't like that either. i think there is a passage in the bible that says something along the lines of "be either hot or cold, the lukewarm will be spat out".

oh here it is, Revelation 3:16. "So then, because thou art luke-warm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit thee out of my mouth".

live for god, or live for hell, but make a choice, christians.

/wishy washy christians tick me off more than the ones that want me to convert.

I would imagine that if you are a christian you can believe in separation of church and state. Almost none do though, apparently.

Thoughts??

Psa 97:10 Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

Pro 8:13 To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.

Amo 5:15 Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph.

Rom 12:9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

Psa 15:1 A psalm of David. Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?
He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart
and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman,
who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts,
who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.

Mat 5:44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Mat 19:19 honor your father and mother,' and 'love your neighbor as yourself.'"

Luk 6:35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

It seems to me that we are to love our nieghbors but, hate their evil.
Pro 13:24 He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.
We should not be PC we should be BC (Biblically Correct). We are to let people know of their sins and if that offends them that's up to them. We do right by the Lord to point out sins and try to bring people to Christ in a loving manner. Luk 17:10 So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.' "

Great ideas from the Word of God, Clint.

Yes, I agree, "hate the sin, but love the sinner!"

That seems to be Jesus' consistent approach to us!
